FINALLY BROKE THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE CURSE - SILVER DIAMONDS & GOLD

I spent a few days with my wife and kids visiting my mother in the Florida Panhandle. I hit a few beaches in Destin, Fort Walton Beach and South Walton County. I have never had any luck at the sandy beaches there.

The weather was pretty nice but the surf gods were angry. Red and Double Red Flags most of the time we were there with a brief period of a Yellow Flag. Winds out of the south made the surf very rough. I stayed mostly knee deep water or less with one brief excursion to waist deep in a lull in the weather.

Surf Was Up Most of the Time There

My first find came on the last of two brief sweeps down the wet sand just before leaving the beach after a day with my wife a kids. Ironically it was a .925 Silver Bracelet with Butterfly design and Diamond Chips on each Butterfly. I preach about how I don't look for Silver but this rang up as gold on the Infinium. Finer small silver stuff does that. The curse was broken. My first find was a done deal and I finally felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders.

    Nice Clasp Marked .925

The next day. We took Grandma with us to the beach and I hit the same area where I found the bracelet. I got more into the water there and started going for any signal since they were few and far between. I had dug a couple of pull tabs when I hit another possible gold signal and out comes a really dark yellow gold wedding band. At first I thought it was 24k but it was a 10k that had been there for a long while. It had actually turned a nice rose gold color.

The following day, we did Grayton Beach. Got shut out there but eyeballed a gold Pirate coin while I was helping my kids catch a Blue Crab. The crab got my finger and I lost my religion for a second or two. My little one told mom on me about the bad words.

That night, I did a late night wet sand hunt but the surf was pounding so hard I couldn't really do any good. I hit a nice gold signal and for a minute my heart was going when I could see a strong gold glitter and felt what I thought was a large ring. Not to be, it was just a large gold plated fresh dropped ladies earring. I finally hit a nice silver signal and out pops a really good .925 Silver Man's Ring.

Nice Heavy .925 Wet Sand Find

My last find was on the next night. I hunted my arse off and only got the thin Silver Hoop earring.

Not a bad trip. Always nice to visit mom. Unusual to for me to get so much silver but the signals were few so I was digging them all this time.

Picks of the kids, wife, grandma and our time at the beach, fishing pier, etc. Enjoy!!!

Congratulations on the finds! Looks like you all had a fun time.

I've been looking for a water detector. I'll be doing fresh water hunting. Do you think your detector would be a good choice or would you recommend a different one?

Thanks for the comments everyone. Hope to be able to meet some of you soon at the get together. I plan on being there unless work or some unextpected event keeps me away.
