DFX in water?

I finally got my new DFX and I have been using it a lot at the park. It works very well although I haven't found anything that great. But anyway I took it to the lake and tried coin, coin and jewelery and beach programs. I was having a lot of problems finding anything. I was getting false targets, the depth gauge wasn't working either. Can anyone give me any info on there experience ?
I am hitting the beaches again tommorow morning because it has been hot all week. If I can't get DFX to work again I will break out my old Walmart special.

I think it might be the concrete pieces under the sand in the man made lakes. I went to a diffrent lake today and had much better signals.
