It is a shame that you did not post the referenced post, a fiction parody based on 99% fact, that was called "vicious", and the reply was in answer to that remark. Posting the parody provided a reference to the remark and question.
This site, per example, is full of treasure hunters who routinely find and recover real treasure, whether it be Civil War relics or pieces of jewelry, etc. They find and recover these items because provenance has established its real existence, provenance also establishing its actual existence in the places they hunt.
On the other hand there are boots on the ground guys who never recover anything that they are pursuing. This is why provenance is so important. Provenance is the difference between actually finding and recovering treasure, or not.
One group is chasing treasures that the know are real and accessible, others are chasing unproven treasures that likely don't exist in the unproven areas they search. Hope this helps!

Other in the field dispute this, or at the very least question if that conclusion is, in fact, conclusive? But this is just one example of the other perfectly reasonable explanations surrounding Oak Island that those promoting the chase of treasure never talk about. Per example, there exist one pretty detailed account of a copper mining operation that draws upon this very region, yet, you'll never hear these folks elaborating on that very-very possible, and very-very real, piece of documented history. All you ever hear about is how Oak Island "just has to be hiding something secret" like treasure even though there exist not one shred of provenance to that claim, even today after all of the promotion and fuss. Why do you think that is?
....it isn't an assumption, it's what is required to turn speculation into fact. You really need to brush up in this area so you'll understand why your theory isn't being accepted as factual accurate solution to any of the referenced treasure mysteries.
