Thanks. You can go back and edit and then it save. I read the 1817 all day yesterday. Thanks for a great way to read. I have gotten copies on microfilm but the microviewer was crap. Thank you ever so much for furthering the research on the Beale Treasure. I screenshoted some of that yesterday and it all disappeared. You have to save the screenshots or they are gone forever. All that reading for nothing. Again thank you. You have helped tremendously.

Here is the "Washington Inn" dated May 19, 1820. It was blurred so I copied it in a later addition of the newspaper, May 30, 1820. This proves without a doubt the Washington Inn was there when the "Job Print Pamphlet" said Thomas Beale visited.

E Sullivan , ivory miniature carver, glasses, gold settings, etc had a room there only confirms that the Washington Inn was open for business in May 1820, not that Robert Morris was the owner or propeitor or that Thomas J Beale stayed there.
January 1822 clearly states it was owned by a "Mr Moorman".
Who is this Mr Henry Morris, female educator who also provide "genteel boarding" at the academy or reputable private houses?
Related to Robert Morris?

But a good example of random unrelated information used as proof that the Beale story actually occurred outside of the pamphlet pages.
This is how questionable information gets posted as fact, and continues to be repeated as fact.

Oh, it's a FACT from Lynchburg, Va. REAL history. Robert MORRIS did "run" the Washington Hotel, as stated; YOU dispute this...?

No, just the jump to conclusion that "proves that without a doubt" because the Washington Inn existed at the of the Beale visit in the story, therefore alluding that this is "proof" that the visit by Beale did occur from an ad that only mentions the Washington Inn.
Now if there was a contemporary newspaper article that mentioned Thomas J Beale staying at the Washington Hotel/Inn/Morris home, that would be real proof of a "Thomas Beale visit".
Who was Mr Moorman and how long did he own the Washington Inn?

From all your prior post you have contented that the Washington Inn/House/Hotel was not in operation until 1823 as by the newspaper article Rebel alluded to. Now I see you have jumped on the other side of the fence. Just because the Washington Inn/House/Hotel existed does not mean Thomas Beale visited Robert Morriss at that location. Of course it does not any d... fool would know that but this is just another stumbling block knocked down. And I will continue to knock down all of your contentions of the story not happening because of????????? Those ? question marks keep going away and sooner or later we will know the complete story. Hang in there ECS your answers are coming. I have also previously stated years ago about how the Washington Inn became the Washington House the Washington Hotel and then became the Arlington. So I will not try to help any further on that issue.

...and none of that Washington Hotel chronology are just footnotes that really have nothing to do with the pamphlet's Beale story.
Just like posts concerning who founded the PIGGLY WIGGLY grocery chain, interesting footnote, but has no real bearing on the presented Beale tale.

Nothing means nothing to you because you hang on to the 23 page pamphlet while we are out here trying to verify the story as real or as fake. You still stand on the same ground the pamphlet's Beale Story. Why do you not let people talk and research just maybe we can figure this out. Your ground can stay where it is grounded int he Job Print Pamphlet.

...and how is knowing who founded the PIGGLY WIGGLY grocery chain going to "verify the Beale story as real or as fake"?
That, as I stated, is a footnote, while interesting piece of genealogy, has nothing to do with the Beale Story in the Job Print Pamphlet which it the original and only source of Beale's perilous adventure treasure tale and alleged stay with Morris and then while constructing the treasure vault, at Bufords.
All the "talk and research" has never yielded one miniscule bit of evidence that the Beale story ever occurred outside of the pamphlets 23 pages, and I have never not "let" people talk and research, just correct some of the wrong misinformation and pure speculation posted as fac, of which you are quite aware.

Those buildings of the Norvell House are not the same as the Washington Inn. The Norvell House was on Lot #30 and the Washington House/Inn was on Lot #23. All though the Washington after Robert Morriss' death was changed to the Norvell Arliington Hotel and even later after 1891 it was called just the Arlington.

The entire Beale treasure story is grounded in the 23 page BEALE PAPERS Job Print Pamphlet. which is the original and only source of Beale's perilous adventure treasure story.
If one wants to verify if the story is fake or real one must prove:
1. Thomas J Beale was a real person.
2. The Beale Party actually existed, bought supplies in Santa Fe, traded silver for jewels in St Louis.
3. Beale's stay at the Washington Hotel, leaving a locked iron box with Robert Morriss.
4. Beale stay at Buford's Inn.
5. Whether Robert Morris actually told this story to an "unnamed" author.
6. Whether this "unnamed" author gave James Beverly Ward a finished manuscript that became the BEALE PAPERS pamphlet.

If these six events that are "grounded" as the foundation of the Beale story can not be proven as having occurred outside of the pages of the pamphlet, then all the extraneous research concerning other expeditions of that period, hotels, Lynchburg history, descendants and genealogy, and yes, even the Hart Papers are only random footnotes, and in no way are any kind verified proof.

I guess when you climb a ladder, you go from the first step to the top in one step? You have to find the information to verify and that takes all of the discussions and research we have put forth. You can never get on top of a house up a ladder in one step. You have to take every step along the way. Would you not agree. Lay off the 23 page pamphlet and look for something to verify the 6 steps you just mentioned. If we do not discuss what we have found so others can compile their research on top of ours is the only way this mystery is ever going to be solved. One way or the other.

All that has been verified by this avenue of research is that the "unnamed" author utilized real people names and real locations and buildings in the story narrative, the exception being, the name "Thomas J Beale" which no one has ever successfully identified as well as the other five events on that list.
The total lack of any outside of the pamphlet collaboration of the six events listed leads to the obvious conclusion- THE BEALE PAPERS is and always was a work of fiction.

Just mentioning that none of these researched facts that have been stated over and over have ever provided even one tiny piece of legitimate evidence that can confirm the six events I listed, discussing the same information over and over is not going to produce any different revelations of actual proof.
