Blimey thats a nice coin . Thats an interesting coin to find in the US . Its not easy to find them here in the UK , though the older Sovereigns do turn up here and there .
I can imagine it giving you a buzz as coinage doesn't go that far back or much further back than the 1600's unless in shipwrecks or some coins from early settlers from Europe.
I remember when i found my first Gold coin which is a Celtic Cantii (Kent) Tribe Gold Quarter Stater 40bc or about's i didn't even get the buzz really , i was in disbelief . It was out of a field that seemed to be very hard to find much in , mainly gunshot carts . I wish that farmer would plough that pasture field , there has to be more ? i wish.

I found it at a Weekend Wanderers dig on 31 May 2009 .
