Re: Recommend posts for The Best Of TreasureNet
This isn't actually a post nomination but seeing there are alot of newbies here, I don't know if you guys have done this before, but I would like to here from you guys on how this site came about and some of the trials and tribulations if there were any (just like treasure hunting). Maybe some stories from Jeff and the other moderators, but really it would be interesting to hear the story from the horses mouth such as who what why, you know what i mean, right?

Re: Recommend posts for The Best Of TreasureNet
Fantastic CACHE photos, and even though the value of the coins is not high, I think this one should go in the "Best of" section. The sheer number of coins found deserves an honored place on the forum.

This has been clearly over looked for the Banner, maybe it will be reconsized as an all time best of...
The most votes I have seen without a banner.

 My Find of a Lifetime!
Re: Recommend posts for The Best Of TreasureNet
Of course I think that a rare variety of a rare early US Half Dime belongs here in the Best of forum. The 1795 Flowing Hair Half Dime I found back in March is variety LM-3; less than 50 known to exist worth in excess of $6K. I have only seen three other 1795 Half Dimes posted, and none are as rare as the LM-3.

How About: Any ideas of what this map/carving is saying?
New poster has link to free on-line book which describes how they found two Spanish cache sites from about 1768 using an the old map carved in stone in the 4-Corners region of New Mexico. It tells how they did it. And how they determined what the symbols mean.
