Well I spent some time trying to find something online about WHSCO but could not find much about the mark. Some similiar items on ebay including a rather plain coin/bill fold. I've tried different variations w.h.s co, whs company, whsco, but nothing really popped up. Tried looking up the makers mark on a website for silver hallmarks/makers marks but again came up empty. I'm sure someone on here could find something out for you if you wanted them to. I was just curious for myself.

That is absolutely awesome Reddie! Congrats on a great find! You are in an awesome area to hunt & you have picked up on this hobby so fast, you are realy doing great! I look forward to the pics of this cleaned up & also one of it opened up. No coins found in it but now you have a cool place to put all the silver coins you find! WTG, GIRLS RULE! (Mona ,Gypsie & LQ made me say that! lol)

LOL girls seem to have a sixth sense about where treasures are hiding ! It's true ! we are the treasure sniffer outters !

That is a very cool find. I have never seen anything like that before or even posted here

Red: Tried to find your find. I believe it's called a " Money Locket "! Does it look like it would hang from a chain?

I added a little silver ring to it at the top in the two holes.Heres a pic of the coin holder parts and another one ! Man i still can't believe it was in such good condition ! I am positive it must of been sheltered in the house or by something ! Or MAYBE its THE LUCK OF THE IRSIH ??! LOL

That is one beautiful bug, Reddie!

The small coat of arms, evidently added later, is that of the college fraternity Phi Delta Theta and was probably taken from a member's frat pin. (See below.)
