Nice find indeed!!!!

Its soaking as i type this ! I think its gunna come out pretty good ! I am also going go over it with a little silver polish when i get all the dirt off. It has some sort of writing on the back can hardly read it.It will come out better when its cleaned.I dont wanna rub the dirt off in fear off scrathes and stuff.
Re: I have found the coolest thing EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love seeing unique finds like that!! Don't be in a hurry to clean it and accidentally damage it or anything - take your time and savor the find . Now of course though you have to tell us the story of actually finding it!!!
How deep was it? What is the yard like? Do you know any history of the yard or previous owners? etc...
Excellent find!!! Congrats - It'll be tough to top that one for awhile, but I'm sure you will

Re: I have found the coolest thing EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The yard once held a Victorian house and i just got permisson the other day to search it.The house was torn down a month ago because it was in disrepair.I am figuring that the bug was somewhere in the house before it was torn down and when it was torn down it got bulldozed into the dirt below.(thats how i think its is such great condition,it was in the house out of the elements )I found it at about 3 to 4 inches under. You should of seen my eyes when i dug 'er up ! LOL ! they were bulging ! I am SOOOO glad i didn't hit it with my shovel ! This find was in 10 minutes of my arrival ! I was so happy i came home to clean it up ! LOL ! i am going back to the area later today to search for more treasures !!!!
I will post updated pics on this thread later on today when i got it shining ! Stay tuned ! LOL

Great story. You're right, this hobby is the best.
Over the years I've done very well hunting sites where old houses once stood. Many people never think about these places. An old Victorian mansion torn down and a new house built on the lot. Sometimes the lot is left vacant.
House sites always have been great hunting sites. Last year a Forum member (lonewolfe) found a large cent and U.S. gold piece by a home/apartment house type of site.
