    Un-FRICKING-believable, Can you imagine what it must of felt like to lose that? Even at face, in the day of that beauty, I'll bet they were crushed when they realized it was gone. Then it layed there in the land bank, collecting all that interest, and you lucky dog got the withdrawl. Congrats. Bongo

    Holy cow, you make it look so easy! Those gold liberties are my favorite kinds of coins! There's a guy up here who owns a treasure hunting store who found a cache a while back and there was a few gold liberties in it. I hope that one day I can find one too!

    Also, back in the 1860's, that $10 gold coin was worth about $200 in modern purchasing power, so yes, I imagine whoever lost it was very mad. But the gold content in the coin is almost a half ounce, so gold value alone is worth $320-$350. And since it has numismatic value, you could probably get $400-$450 if you chose to sell it. Man am I jealous!
