Well I just talked to the Realtor in Mankato that has the contract on the house. The sale got canceled on the 1870 farmhouse as well as the adjacent lot with some buildings. They said I could hunt the farm some more if I wanted and since the sale didn't go through, I could search the adjacent land that was part of the parcel the buyer to be had already taken over. The area adjacent to the original farmhouse has a creamery where they used to sell milk, cheese, etc. as well as a building that was a small merchantile at one time. I had been wanting to go over the site but there were posted signs everywhere. Now if there are no old coins there, I may as well give up. I don't think there will be more gold but at least it is a new place to hunt.

And I bow to YOU! ATTABOY!

There HAS to be another cache there. Yes, IMHO that was a cache, but just a quickie cache by the door. The big one might be too deep for the DFX. Since I'm sure you've cleaned up the area, I would be swinging that Infinium.

Happy Swingin (like I really need to say that :D)

It was much easier to transport a lot of money if it was in gold. Remember no checks or Visa or really many banks close by. If you went to buy cows for the farm. Chances are you took at least some gold for the money to use. Some people only trusted gold as payment as well. As they say, "It is as good as gold."
