Got permission to hunt an old 1870's farm house. I started to hunt around the house with the small 4x6" DD Shooter coil, paying special attention to the sidewalk edges and the doorsteps. On my first pass by the side door, I got a strong signal. Dug the Half-Eagle, looked to the side of it and there was the Quarter-Eagle. Almost fainted. Had to stand by a tree for a little bit.

That has to be the find of a lifetime, you are one lucky bloke! I can only imagine the feeling of a double find of that magnitude. I felt faint just reading about it ;D, thanks for sharing.

Outstanding!

I got a bad feeling all the locals hereabouts were dirt poor in that time period. That, or it was a barter system of payments. :D A bushel of turnips don't detect well after 120 years.

Can't be me. ;)

Wonderful! I was so caught up in the other gold coin posted here recently that I almost overlooked your post! Glad I opened it up! The question now is, what do you do for an encore?
