Unbelievable! The luck involved to find both pieces of that buckle is staggering. Am I correct that these pieces were numbered? If so, do the numbers match on both halves?

I'm not sure I agree with the sabre blows theory though. I think it would be doubtful that it was hit once much less several times. Plus I think the owner would have been laying in the battlefield if he got hit with that sabre. The problem is that we will never know the full story.

But who cares? You found some amazing artifacts!
