    Round bottom bottle

Weird bottle i picked up at a garage sale, the number 6139 is embossed on the bottom.

There are bubbles in the glass near the bottom where the glass is thickest, it also has an
uneven (like the two halves were not "matched up" perfectly) seam that stops just below
    the top.

One person suggested this may have had a dual purpose on an old ship, ballast/fresh water
and after the water was used it would be refilled with sea/lake water to maintain that ballast.

91/2 inches long, the knobish top is just shy of one inch,2 1/2 inches wide. slight greenish color.

Any idea`s or is this nothing of any real interest.

"round bottom sodas" or "ballast bottles"

Made that way so they would Lay on their sides
& Keep the cork from drying out.

    Nice find

Got a few of these now from a 1870's era dump, I think they're an awesome bottle, really gets me that they'd make them like that too!
