    Bottle digging 101

Look for a likely spot. I like to look along rivers, streams, etc. Another good place can be near abandoned houses or homesteads.I found this nice old foundation spilling down a hillside.

This one looks nice. Let's find the source.

I found a ditch caused by water runoff. Along the edges are sure signs of an old dump. Broken china, mason jars, roof tiles and the like. The ditch creates a nice place to work from. I can chip away at the sides while filling ditch with dug dirt.

I'm guessing that oil is from a Sperm Whale. Weird.

    Re: Bottle digging 101

Great post! Reminds me of when i was a kid, we found an old city dump near a river with a similar wash-out as your pic shows, we brought home wheel barrows FULL of bottles!

    Thanks for sharing!
