    FRED SEHRING BREW"G CO.

..Dug this about 2 months ago; have been searching for I.D and info on company; came across this on E-Bay today.

THIS IS A 1915 BREWERY CRATE FROM THE FRED SEHRING BREWERY OF JOLIET ILLINOIS. IT IS 12 INCHES WIDE AND 20 INCHES LONG. IT HAS SOME DAMAGE AND WEAR AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE SCAN, BUT ALL IN ALL GOOD CONDITION FOR 90 YEARS OLD.

Now I at least know they were operating in 1915.

    Jake,

farmers dump, now part of a forest preserve in Will Co. Illinois. Out in the woods is where I do a lot of my searching for old dumps. Even if I strike out on a search I still enjoy getting out. Work the creeks and whatever is left of old roads, also what may have been the sides of old fields. If I start getting anything on my detector (lot of other junk in the dump) I'll start doing a little digging, sometimes it turns out to be a dump and I'm there for 2 or 3 different trips, until the pit runs out. Oh so much shattered, but the few that are left are worth it.

    have a good un.............
