    Re: insulators and cleaning

I have found a few while diving the river. I clean them as I do all my bottles in a mixture of Muriatic Acid and water in a 5 gal bucket.

    couple of interesting web sites:

    Re: insulators and cleaning

    Hi,
I received a bunch of clear glass insulators from my sister-in-law that she didn't want. They had been dug out of the ground - were dirty and some with brown coating from the dirt. I hand cleaned them with Dutch Cleanser or Comet Cleanser and steel wool soap pads. They come out shinny clean. I also clean bottles found in the dirt or lakes coated the same and no problems. These are bottles from the twenties to forties. I would be careful with an old bottle before that time. Gretchen.
