Here's a Willington eagle pint, one of very few historical flasks that I have.

Nice, strong strike on that eagle! I have a similar flask with a less-prominent strike.

Came upon this black glass bottle at an estate sale recently for 4 bucks. Nowhere near as nice/interesting as what some of you have, but it's a start. Looks like an ale bottle from the 1860s-1880s to me, but I could easily be wrong, as I'm very green (only started collecting this summer). Apologies for the poor pictures; someone else took them for me because I'm away from home. If you've seen something like this before please let me know!

Well the holidays have been busy and I've had very little time to break free but I was able to stumble on a nice little bottle dump in the mangroves while detecting.....quickly put the detector down and filled a back pack with as much black glass as I could dig out of the mud !! 20200101_201522.jpg and wow....22 black glass ales. 20200101_201536.jpg

20200101_202145.jpg 20200101_202201.jpg I left some wines and other goodies for next time....man this is a good little low tide spot, I cant wait to return !! Plenty of aqua beers here too 20191230_225607.jpg got a good amount of round bottom ballast bottles also....the down side is it took all day to get 2 back pack loads out of this bush !!

An old thread for old bottles! What's new? Who has newly acquired black glass to show us? Here's a French truffle bottle:

You have some amazing glass Harry.
Late to the thread, and kind of in a rush this AM.
This case gin was floating in a water ditch of a mountain ghost town.
The place was built on stilts above the muskeg, and small drainage ditches were through the site.
Recovered 50+ yrs ago.

My favorite, the lip is just so stout, like it should belong to a large bottle.

When I first found this bottle about 5 years ago I did not think is was that old .I saw the word Carlsbad embossed on the bottom and started to try to learn something about it At the time I did not know about Treasure Net .I learned some basic info about a pretty nice bottle .Better yet IL found a great place to learn about bottles and all things that are a great way to keep up to all the fun ways to enjoy digging for treasures scattered around the countryside

A Carlsbad bottle . . . can you tell us something about the bottle? I am not familiar with the brand(?) . . . manufacturer(?) . . . place(?) . . . content(?).

Here's one that I favor, one of Dr. Townsend's early sarsaparillas:
