    Repro-cussions

I cannot resist buying repro's. I paid from 1 to 8 bucks a piece for these. The first one is from Taiwan, the rest are American made.

There is nothing wrong with repros especially when the original is too rare and worth too much money.

    Re: Repro-cussions

Technically, these are not "repro's". A reproduction is a bottle blown in an effort to replicate an earlier, sometimes valuable, bottle.

Most, if not all, of your bottles here, 'gleaner1', are "fantasy bottles." Fantasy bottles are often blown in an earlier shape, with stylized embossing (as in "apple bitters"), and often in gaudy colors. If a modern bottle is made to look "old-fashioned" but has no actual predecessor, it is a fantasy bottle.

They do make colorful window bottles!

Harry, thanks for the education. I believe the flasks (cobalt and 2 more) are Lestoil containers. I had suspicions on some of these, I never saw genuine examples anywhere.
