    Meager finds today

    Hi all,

Went down to the local 30's dump today just to poke through some glass. It did not take very long at all for the mosquitoes to drive me right back to the car. Next time I will remember the repellent.

I did hang in long enough to find two pieces that are a bit unusual, although not ancient.

First is a Ball Improved quart jar in blue. If I understand the changes in the Ball script throughout the years, this jar was likely produced between 1896 and 1910. Quite a survivor indeed.

Second is just oddball. It is nearly all of a Pineoleum nebulizer from I would imagine the 30's. All that is missing is the rubber ball and misting nozzle. I may or may not toss it. I brought it home for the "neatness factor" and to do the research.

Finally, a cell phone pic of some criers left behind. I see these pieces at antique shops and they have an unbelievable glow under black light, but I forget what they are called.

    Thanks for looking

    Mr R

Cool finds Mr. R I love dump hunting! Not just for bottles, but anything Brass, Copper, Silver, Plastic. Etc. Especially when they have embossed or etched writing that you can research and learn about it Paul
May you find God's grace in every mistake!

    Interesting finds, 'Mr. Ripley'.

I think I've seen this yellowish glass described as "uranium glass," and it may well be glass with uranium as a colorizer.

I don't collect fruit jars myself, but here's what I can offer.
