Newbie here - help me with this jar??

I found this jar last week, in a wooded area on a farm in central Kentucky. The jar was lying on top of the ground. As you can see, it's about 3 inches tall, a light greenish-blueish color. The words "FREE SAMPLE" are in the glass, toward the top (you can see the word "Sample" in one of the pictures). On the bottom, there's an inverted triangle with the letter W above the letter T, and the number 8 below the triangle.
I've never seen anything like this before, so I have no idea if it's an intereesting find, or not!! Can someone help?
    Thanks so much!

It was made by Whitall Tatum co. in the 1920's and 30's with that type of trade mark. They made a lot of different glass containers so it's hard to tell what might of been in it. Nice find.
