    Latest Find

Found me another E. Anthony Bottle. These things are like Hen's teeth in the pontil variations. This one is shorter and wider than the other one I have. It is also a iron pontil. It took me over 20 years on finding this one and I almost missed out on it.

I found it in a google search. It was on Ebay with 1 day left. Well, the next day or so I was very busy and it was around late evening when I realized I had forgotten the auction. I was outside working on the shed and ran around to the front door of the house and it was locked. I banged on it and rang the bell so the wife would let me in. Instead of waiting I whipped my keys out and bolted inside and landed in front of the computer in which I attacked with a flurry of key strokes. On minute to go! I slammed down a big bid and the rest is history.
Here is a pic of the two pontil variations together.

Thanks, not really a med. They are Photo Chemical Bottles from the 1850's. You will see them pictured and mentioned with medicine bottles though. Here are a couple of close ups where the letters were cut off. Maybe the mold was intended originally for a larger bottle? Anthony has a partial Y missing and Broadway is missing the Y.

Neat......photo chemical bottles from the pontil age. I never knew about any old ones, but we find the Eastman's (Kodak) from later days...
