    bottle help!

    I was metal detecting the other day on a river bank and found this sticking out of the bank about 3 foot from the top. Im not sure of age or what type of bottle it is. Is it black glass? and what age ? Thanks!!

    It has a concaved bottom of 1 1/2 inches

    Wine or champagne bottle. Prob around 1900-1910 but could be older. Hard to tell with the pics whether its a tooled top. I find them quite a bit in the privies. It is most likely green glass. Black glass is just really dark green. You should be able to see right through it if you put it up to the sun. Cool bottles. I think they concaved the bottom to jip people out of the full contents. jgas
