    Laughlins & Bushfield druggist bottle Wheeling Va.

    I dug this a couple years ago. It is 9" tall and has red iron pontil. Does anybody know anything about this business? Value? Thanks! DD.

    Their early bottles are embossed Wheeling VA and the later ones are embossed Wheeling WV.
    IT WOULD DATE BACK TO AT VERY LEAST 1862, AS WEST VIRGINIA GOT ITS STATEHOOD IN 1863
    Their full names were Alexander Laughlin and Samuel Bushfield.

    Looks like you got a goodun . Many of us tend to forget that it was all VA until the Civil War .
