Duraglas bottle UPDATE Likely a ketchup bottle from 1945

Here is what I found so far. Any help on the age, type, etc. would be very much appreciated.

Duraglas..............Owens Illinois Glass Company, Toledo, OH (1929-to date). Trademark used after 1940. See "Diamond superimposed over an oval and I" and "I within an O" marks.

The number to the left of the symbol (9) is the plant number and means it was made in Streator, IL.

The number to the right indicates the year it was made (5), so could be 45, 55, 65, etc.

The number below (14) is the mold cavity number.

Below Duraglas writing, says “E1635”

Looks like a 1950s to 1970s ketchup bottle to me.

The "Diamond O-1" mark indicates the bottle was produced by Owens Illinois Glass Co. who used that mark from 1929 to 1956 and maybe a year or two more.
The "9" designates the plant of manufacture: Streator, Illinois (1930 to at least 1971).

Thanks a lot Mack. I overlooked the fact on the site I looked at that they quit using the diamond in the marking c. 1958.

I read that the 5 to the right of the mark indictates the last number of the year. Should I guess 1955 or do you think they would make bottles like that in 45?

I did a little more research and since that symbol was changed around 58 and Duraglas didn't start using it until 1940, it can only be those years and I obv. lean toward 55.

Edit: Actually did some research and the Sniders ad posted in here is from 1949 and the bottles looked like that in 45 as well. So either 45 or 55. The bottle was found 40 minutes from Pittsburgh (Heinz country) and I found a 1945 Heinz ad that looks like the bottle but the Sniders bottles look almost exact.

The single digit year mark followed by a 'dot' (as yours has) was used only in the years 1940 through 1946; ergo, yours is a 1945 bottle.

Heinz ketchup bottles have H.J. HEINZ & CO. embossed on the base - in addition to being 8-sided bottles

Duraglas

Anytime you see the Owens-Illinois mark <(I)> and Duraglas together, you can be certain it dates to 1940 or later. I call the rest of those numbers "gobblygook" and are mold and/or tracking numbers with no real significance.

As a general rule, the following applies to O-I bottles ...

5 (no dot) 1935
5. (w/dot) 1945
55 ........... 1955

A few of the codes (mostly on soda bottles) elude me. But I have most of them figured out now. My favorites to decipher are the Glenshaw Glass bottles, whose mark is a "G" in a square. Ignore the four-digit numbers on those. Their date code is a super-small letter on the upper lip of the bottle, and is so small it takes a magnifying glass to see it. (See chart below).
