    it isn't in the city, but close to some very old communities. i probed down and got some sound. so i may have a chance to dig it next week. found the broken saucer next to it..

    Good luck & I mean that. However, The newer looking tin is a clue that this privy isn't all that old. Keep in mind that outhouses are still in use in some places & not just in the south. Most good out outhouses will have little to no evidence of being there, or else they would have been already dug. What you have there could be from the 1970s. - Just my thought.

    yeah,you hit it right on the money jim..it was about the 50's or 60's and nothing in the pit....but i've got a few others in mind like you're talking about..i'll let u know..later bud.
