a 2 foot tall mason??? i need a fast response

today i saw a 2ft maybe a lil bit higher mason jar, it was huge. it had alot of embossing on it, including a date of 18 something. i cant remember. the front and back had raised embossing. on the oposite side of the date was maybe a star shoot i cant remember. a screw top lid. well, they were asking 15.00. i wanted it but it was SOLD. (so says the paper with tape on it) the buyer has not picked it up. any one know the value of this guy should i go back and offer her more. maybe i can convince her to tell the original buyer it fell and broke seriously tho, is this for real or is it a repro of some kind? if its worth it i will stick with my plan......

These came out during the glass boom of the bicentennial. They are not fakes they are fantasies. They took an original small size jar and blew it up. They were very popular with decorators, people who wanted a jar for their change and other folks. They are not particularly rare and if found in an antique store they will be asking about $50 and if found in a thrift shop or flea market $10 to $15. If you happenned to buy the one priced $50 and went back again to that spot a little later you would find another one priced $50. The people that have them have lots of them. exanimo, ss
