I am not sure if this vase is old, but it is unique and wanted to share it. For fifty cents at a yard sale, I couldn't pass it up. The vase is about nine inches tall and is off center on the base. There are lines of a powder of sorts in the glass. There are no makers marks on the piece, but it appears handblown. The glass is thin, except for the stem between the base and green top, it is twisted and thick as you can see from the pictures. Any idea on how old it is or a possible maker? Perhaps someone has seen this kind of vase before.

I don't know the maker either but I do have a set of cordials that have the same clear base with blue cups. Here is a photo of one of them-

you might google viking new martinsville glass and see if you can find anything similar.....
My initial thought when I found them was Morgantown Glass because they have several types of twisted patterns, but I checked my books, no such luck. Viking has a twist called "epic" but that's not it either. There is a similar pattern by Celebrity Crystal called Hampton, but the color doesn't match and they didn't make a vase. The closest I can come up with in resemblance is a japanese company called Sasaki Crystal, pattern is called Coronation. Even then, it's not an exact match and they didn't make the vase in that pattern. I believe our pieces are by the same manufacturer, but I haven't found it yet.
