Beer bottle, we need to see a pic of the whole bottle to give you a date range...I'm guessiing the 1910-20 range from what I can see...

I see an Owens Glass Co. mark on the bottom. Typically, on soda bottles, bottles in the 20's to early 30's will have a date stamp close to the base. From the late 30's all the way to the 1980's will have a date or year of manufacture on the base or bottom of the bottle. For instance on your bottle, I see a single 9 and the Owens mark. The 9 is either the month or batch #. If you look closely, you might see 2 #'s together. 43 would represent 1943, 39 would represent 1939, and so on. Just a little info on how to date a soda bottle.

The Owens Glass Company acquired the Illinois Glass Company - Becoming Owens-Illinois in 1929 - Their earlier mark is well recognized and looks something like this 9 <(I)> 3 (which in this example of mine and on most non painted acl bottles, would represent 1933). In any event, the earliest your Princeton bottle could possibly be is 1929. I can't make out the number to the right of the mark on your bottle, but suspect it is a single digit 1 thru 9 for 1931 thru 1939. The 9 to the left of the mark is O-I plant #9 = Streator, Illionois where your bottle was made. Here's one of numerous links for Owens-Illinois Owens-Illinois, Inc. - Ohio History Central - A product of the Ohio Historical Society

By the way, the earliest Owens-Illinois mark I am aware of is a 1930. I have yet to see a confirmed 1929 which would have a single digit 9 to the right of the mark.

Thanks for sharing and please tell and show us more regarding the marks on the base of your bottle.

If you haven't realized it yet, just click on the image of the chart and it will enlarge to a readable size. You can also save and print it for future use.
