HELP WITH IDENTIFICATION

A friend of mine found an old beer bottle when dismantling a log cabin in the Charlottesville area. He showed it to me and I tried to do some googling to get him some info. But I haven't acheived much success. Could someone please give me some direction?

It's a stopperd bottle with Gianniny & Gleason in a half circle in the center of the bottle and Charlottesville Va. completes the circle at the bottom. In the center it says Manager's Portner Beer.
At the bottom it says This Bottle not to be sold. any suggestions to find age and the business? Thanks
