I found this old bottle last yr. There use to be a old train track back in the 1800s that ran along the river. I found this one in the river while kayaking. It was the only one I saw. Its amazing that there isnt a single chip on it.
Its from Pa and I believe its a soda bottle. Must of been thrown from the train in the river. Found in North Ga.

Hello rock,

It's not a soda. It is, what the bottle guys call, a shoo-fly flask. Most likely held a spiritous beverage, though it might have held any number of things.


It was made in Pittsburgh by the Dominic O. Cunningham Glass Co.

"D.O.C……………..D.(Dominick) O. Cunningham Glass Co., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (c.1882-1931). A prolific producer of soda bottles, especially hutches. The mark seems to be seen primarily on handmade bottles manufactured (generally speaking) before about 1910."
