Put these fireplace mantels I've been buying at garage sales, fleas and Craigslist up on the wall to display some of my better bottles in my living room, the top and bottom shelves are 6 footers and the middle two are 5 footers. Whiskeys on the bottom, matching pint and quart hutches in the middle and the top shelf is my TOP SHELF stuff....

Hey Jim,

Man, that looks great. Quite the quantum of Quarts! 8-) Has one gone visiting? Does the ochre wall color intensify the aqua?

Thanks, and yes the wall color seems to have a nice effect on the aquas, I am considering a white background behind the bottles, maybe a piece of vinyl I can pin to the wall and remove if I don't like the look instead of painting the area behind them.

I realize its alot work but have you considered added some soft lighting behind the bottles or do you think that would be too drastic? Very nice display by the way and impressive collection

Lighting is being considered, the key is low profile lightstrips along the back of each shelf and the wiring would have to be snaked thru the walls to keep the floaing shelf theme. I have a light on the ceiling above them with two adjustable bulbs, I may add two more to the strip and see what that does. The pic posted was just a natural light pic...

The shelves are very deep, about 8", and I don't need it here in NJ, but I will be adding a small metal or wood strip to each shelf just so they don't 'walk' on me...
