Hello bottle pros. Need some help with ID and possible value. A friend of mine found this in downtown Charleston South Carolina about 30 years ago. He asked me about the value but not being a bottle collector I have no idea. Any input from you bottle pros will be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

Hello Darby,

It's a common UK ale bottle. The impressed area at the heel would have been the potter's mark. I cannot read it from here.

They're sometimes tough to read even when in hand, I've got some that a magnifying glass does not decode.

Unfortunately, they do not have much value, due to the huge numbers exported and the many survivors. They were also made for a long period of time, and you can find them with a crown cap finish, as well.
