I've seen a lot of older glass dogs like this one that have an opening and were used to contain a variety of items/liquids. But from what I can see this one doesn't have any quality like that. So a date or place found on this one will most likely be necessary in identifying it.

This was in my Mother-In-Laws house when we had to clean it out after her passing. My "guess" it is to hold smaller jewelry like rings in the bowl.

Hey Renee,

I agree, I think it's a ring keeper. Is it peachy or pink glass? I think that Preston green is color influencing the dog. I'm gonna go out on a limb, and guess on L.E. Smith as the maker.

I could be way off, but that's my best guess. That's gotta be a very tough color to photograph, please show more...

Here's an Airedale in pink satin:

very very nice Sheperdess. At first I thought it could be a ashtray but their are no cig indentations. Like you said - it really looks like something to put your jewelry (rings, etc.) in while on your dresser. Still -it is a very nice piece.

Surf,
Here it is in the window with my bottle necks. Does it show the color a little better there? It is not frosted.

The dog has a mold seam from his toes to his tail and the bowl has no seem at all.

Renee, I so admire your Neck & Finish collection! All that window needs is a soundtrack...

I wish I had a nice cobalt one to send you. I'm gonna have to look around in the garage...
