Same here... There are pieces of these jugs all over this place we hunt in Stafford and VERY rarely ever find one that comes intact. I really got lucky, wasn't even looking for artifacts in the stream but went down too wash up after walking thru some poison ivy/oak and i just caught the butt end of it sticking out of the stream. I got it hanging up on the fireplace mantle now : )

This is a pretty nice find, could you tell me the measurements of this jug, height and width and maybe weight. Just a rough estimate would be nice

Around streams and brooks are always excellent places !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Years ago there was a quick snow melt in Up State NY,,, after the water went back to normal , a friend and I were fishing , at our usual spot , the bank had been cut back about 2 feet and all we saw were bottles and jugs sticking out of the bank
We harvested bucket loads, all vintage local stuff, sold them off to a local bottle store, The one thing we did do right was get the store owner to pay us in cull pre 1964 US coins he had in another show case
Anyway a bit of reading up on the area was that the stream bank had been used as a bottle/jug dump back in the late 1890s , the bottles ect were thrown there the stop erosion of the bank,
Always keep an eye open around those areas
Great Find

Oradden.. I'm out and about right now @ work til 5am. Will get the measurements then but it is probably 11-12 inches height til you get to the upper curve part and then probably another 6 or so inches up to the spout, spout is probably 2-3 inches. Weight is heavy.

1910-20's is probably the best date range, nice find, even better had it been scripted or stenciled... I have 5 out on my front porch. I had a 5 gallon painted by my buddy for my parents anniversary because my mom loves old stuff like this...
