Charleston,S.C.Privy Dig
Me and a buddy dug a privy in old Charleston saturday..these are my share.
L to R top to bottom
6-pontil quart whiskeys-1860's
1-Squat pontil whiskey-1830's
1-pontil mallet-1830's or before
2-F.W.Jessen Charleston sodas-1880's
4-inks-1-pontil (darker one)
1-pontil London mustard-1860's
1-whiskey barrel tapper
1-Croc-maybe 1700's
1-whole rat-tail pewter spoon-1700's
We had a great time and are going back soon for more....B.H.

I don’t see a Mallet (circa 1700-1740), but still nice finds. 
The privy was layered with clay which is very unusual in Charleston.The mallet is on the far right in the first photo.1830's style bottle not 1700's....B.H.

I see. That guy is a regular ale/porter bottle and not what we'd call a Mallet (wrong time period). Thought I was going blind for a second. Nice bottles, nevertheless
