Bottles are such a unique treasure item. No one ever thinks they are anything but trash and throw them out, only to be discovered hundreds of years later by an eager treasure hunter. They contain anything from rum to "miracle cure". From small town druggists to big names like Coca-Cola, it's just something about the eerie glow of a piece of glass that leaves you in awe and makes you smile. There are alot of bottles out there, but I want to see your favorite. Mine is this nice pre-20th century druggist bottle of L.M. Monroe and his son in New Canaan. According to a report from the New Canaan druggist museum, he bought the store in 1854 and sold it in 1918 to J.J. Cody. So I figure the dad was probably still alive when his son sold it. I place it probably between 1880-1910. But any additional information would be appreciated. I want to see your favorite bottle (singular) and why. Interesting stories score bonus points.

Hey Ninja Fossils, you posted this one before. I think your research is good, I have the later version of that bottle with Cody's name on it. I guess they used BIM up into the 20's. I really like that one, though. Here's my version, but probably not my favorite bottle.

Newbie bottle collector here but this one here, though common is my favorite merely because of how thick and bubbly the glass is and the pretty aqua color. Its from the Birmingham,Alabama Bottling Co.

My favorite one is the bottle on the left. It's embossed Dr. E. C's Balm is crude, blue and open pontil. I dug a flange lip variation of this bottle back in the late 1970's and I got hooked on this med. I now have 15 of these in various colors, and ages.
