A vase??

Found this tonight at a local auction. What do you guys think about it?? Is it old or really worth anything more than it is to the person?

Either way, I thought my girlfriend may like it Just figured I would share with you guys.. Been creeping the forums for a while just never registered and posted anything !

Hard to tell from the pics. Any Pontil on the base? Demijohn sorta. Looks kinda newer to me. jgas

Just my opinion but I think it's modern art glass. Nice color though.

I like it too and I thought demijohn as well but looks newer. I would still like to have something like that to put in my kitchen over the cabinet space.

Utilitarian glass - such as a demijohn - almost always has some reinforcement of the lip. A collar, a string, a disk . . . something is applied or molded or tooled to protect the lip from breakage. When there is no reinforcement of the lip, I immediately think "art glass."
