What's up y'all. Spotted this bottle in the creek the other day. No clue what it is or when it's from, but I'm hoping you guys will. Embossed on the bottom of the bottle, it appears to be an oval with a rhombus inside of it. The left side points to the number 12, the right side to the number 4, and the number 1 below. I am very curious about that. I Thanks for all your help.

Hey Troutman,

That's an Owens Illinois Glass Co. mark. It was made in 1944, at the Gas City, Indiana plant. Owens-Illinois Glass Company

Wow. Very cool. Thanks for the fast reply. What do you think it was used for?

I see the top is chipped but my question is how big is the opening at the top or lip? That might give a clue as to what it held. Id almost say cologne or perfume or some type of cosmetic product just from its size. Nail polish?

the hole at the top is very small. Just big enough to fit a headphone jack in

Here's a pic from the top. It's the same width as a pencil.

Yeah, I meant that. I have all kinds of bottles and hopefully that place will help me look up the date codes. Thanks for the welcome!

I don't have nothing that great, but I do have a decent amount. I'll try to get some pictures up sometime soon, but I don't know how good of a job my camera will do.
