I am not very familiar with bottles and glass, but I was metal detecting a late 1800s foundation and found a small bottle dump while digging. I found a snake oil bottle. Then I found a larger bottle dump where there are many intact bottles. I found some jars with porcelain lids, and other bottles with words. Would it be worth my time to keep searching?

Heck yeah! Find the outer edge of the dump and dig straight down, then work your way side-ways into the dump. Go slow, they are fragile and probably mixed with lots of junk iron.

Keep digging you never know what's under the surface be careful though digging bottles becomes a disease lol.

The lids are usual liners for Mason, Ball or other assorted canning jars. If you have pictures of the bases, it may give us a better date range.
