Good stuff Jim, that lip is interesting on the taller ginger beer, not like any stamped Paterson ginger beers. First time seeing the Zarrow 'quart', would have been nice if it had part of it's original label...

Jim, try using a plastic scouring pad on the ginger beers. Works great on glass as well

Soak the GB's in warm water with some baking soda for a few hours and then a scrubbing pad should take the rust away...

Wow. So you can go digging anytime. I think you should definitely go to the local hardware store and get a piece of hardware cloth to make a sifter. It could pay off for you.

well it was a short dig went back out today dug for 2 hrs i think the spot was just an old trash pile didnt find anymore keepers just old busted pottery and some glass, rusted metal, etc.did find what appears to be the rocks lining the old outhouse walls but they are the outside of them :BangHead: so what ever is there will be staying there (wife doesnt want me digging up the the stone patio we built over that area):dontknow:

As everyone else has said, there are probably some methods to possibly convincing her. But don't dig yourself into a hole doing that! Oh man that was bad...

I get rust stains off glass bottles with 'Iron Out'? I think that's what it's called- it contains phosphoric acid and takes off rust stains as soon as you spray it on. I scrub and then rinse well for good measure- Not sure if it would damage stoneware though, although I only put it on for a short period of time.
