I went digging this morning with my friend at a spot I have been itching to try. We quickly located a likely area, made our test hole, and hit shards, ash, and shell. We spent about three hours digging and the spot definitely has potential. Understandably, the top later was newer stuff, about 1900-1920. I had just started hitting into older stuff when we had to leave. Anyway, I got a jug, a busted stoneware (I'd like to think there may have been stenciling on that part haha), a Miller Dairy Co New Canaan milk bottle variety I don't have, a crown top Stamford water bottle in a size I don't have (busted top), a Brookfield insulator, a nice lock, a toy gun, two shoes, a toy train, and a spear/harpoon/frog gig. What's the evidence of older stuff? This blue shard of a blob top, along with a few other older tops and pieces, mean there have to be goodies underneath all of this. Hopefully get to dig tomorrow.

Definitely has potential. Have you tried probing to see if there's anything deeper? . Good luck to you and keep us posted. Looking forward to some finds. If you can, get some "action" photos please

Didn't probe, will next time tho. And yes I'll try to get some digging pics. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go digging again tomorrow with my brother. It's his birthday and he's never gone digging before, hopefully we'll get something good for him!

Nice locals and I really like your spear you found that's an unusual find. You should soak it in apple cider vinegar for a few days I bet it would clean up pretty nice.

Went back for two hours, not nearly as long as I wanted but I take what I get. Anyway, moved a lot of dirt and made way for major excavation next time. Here are the goodies. Another milk bottle, a Four Aces whiskey flask (kinda newer but looks nice), a broken Codd (says made in Italy), two insulators, some tops, two inks, a shard of a base of a hutch, a broken ground lip Pat 1858 Mason, and a shard of a Union Clasped Hands flask. Still haven't hit older stuff but I know it's down there, did some probing. Unfortunately I don't think I'll have the time to go back too soon, but hope to spend the day there next time.

Thanks man, hopefully I'll be able to show you guys some whole good stuff soon. Anyone have any ideas on the Codd? The fact that it says Made in Italy has me wondering how it got here or for what reason.

Wow, that clasped hands flask would have been a really good find. Sorry that it's broken. You definitely are in a great site. Don't give up and be very careful digging. Thanks for the in situ photos.

Not as nice as that broken green one you found haha! I'm gonna jump at the next chance I have to get some digging in, but it'll probably be a week until I get back there. Keep you guys posted!
