So there was so much iron and junk on the beach the detector wasn't too useful, but there was so much old thick glass I changed my treasure hunt to glass treasure!

Brown green and white, but also some huge purple(more about those later) turquoise, seafoam, stained glass, a pink, cobalt blue and more! We found a portion of a cobalt blue lens as well.

Here are some necklaces we made including some very rare reds and the red heart shape "The Heart of Chicago".

The square huge purple is a vault light or prism lens, it is dated with "Patented Sept 14 1909". At 8oz it's too big to wear, but an awesome paperweight!

All this well worn glass will eventually become something. Anything too modern will be recycled.

Thanks for looking!

You can do lots of stuff, mosaics are popular too, but I'm terrible at them! Id love to make a stained glass window with all found beach glass.

get this....was looking at a house for sale the other day on the beach. The owners had both been artists and had some amazing personal touches incorporated into the interior. One such thing was to take beach glass that they had found and put it into steps, and then back light them. It was very simple and very subtle.

that is a neat idea. Henry, nice work and glad to see something good coming from the glass on the shores

Awesome glass you got that day- you must have had a blast ;) That red is VERY rare (and valuable, as a result). You make beautiful stuff there-- found a way to make money on a 'spur' hobby while not feeling remorse over selling something like a special bottle or artifact. I like that! Yakker
