Hi;

Dug both of these two sodas out of the mud along the bank of the Broad River in Beaufort SC. The only markings they have are a 6 1/2 OZ on the neck, . L G W on one side of the base, and a 1 169 on the other side. On the base bottom is Ridgeland SC. The base is slightly uneven and there are some very small bubbles in the glass.

I'm not looking for value, just hoping to figure out what beverage may have been inside and when they may have been produced. I did some cursory word searches for Ridgeland SC bottling history but came up empty handed.

Any help?

Soda bottles, any flavor is possible without a label, you'll never know any more than that... 1920-30's would make sense

Ridgeland is not that big of a town and its just down the road from you . if you go there and ask around some one may have some info on them.

I seem to remember that a Laurens Glassworks was a large producer of soda bottles in South Carolina. Hope this is some help.
