Most recent and decent find... cool hog head embossed on the bottom. Thinking 1890's. Came from a place where a bottle will be uncovered one tide, then rolled and broken the next.... lucky enough to go looking after a big wind from the right direction.. also got a JGB Siegert & Sons (1930's?) little green bitters bottle...nothing too special but it was whole and a Listerine cork top plus a quart size milk with some damage to the top. :hello2:

I'd say I'm more of a take what I can get hunter..... this particular spot I came across while walking a bank, more of a river/harbor bank than a beach but still a sandy muddy area where there are parts and pieces of bottles and other older debris. Must have been a dump spot way back. I have found several broken bottoms and tops of Dispensary bottles but never a whole one.... not yet anyway.

It's been a while since anything good came out of there, or that wasn't picked up by someone else. Best part about freezing cold and wind, no foot prints on the walk in. The Gin bottle was half uncovered but the bitters was barely visible, I take the time to check out every piece, usually ends up a broken part but not this time.

Side note, last week I called a realtor about walking a piece of property with a MD and got permission. Didn't find anything cool except way on the back side (and most likely on the adjacent property) there were what looked like earth works....except it turned out to be a massive bottle dump, I'm talking 1000's but all of them screw tops and mostly broken... still I wonder if maybe deeper there is older stuff... pretty sketchy area, like getting shot at sketchy... not sure I'll pursue it or not...something to ponder though. :icon_scratch:
