Ok guys I think I found a spanish cob today. I posted it on todays finds. I need you bottle experts to help me date a bottle top shard that came from the same spot. If I can get a close guesstimate ill be able to do some research on wrecks from around the same time. Im thinking and hoping late 1600s early 1700s. Its shedding skin like an onion for sure. Every time I touch it little flakes of onion skin fall off photo-68.JPG

Wow that is definitely very early the bottle neck was either a mallet or an onion. The second shard looks like a case gin. Cool finds definitely 18th century.

Perfect thats what I thought. Thanks for that. Now I just got to figure out which wrecks from this time are unaccounted for.

That bottle neck & lip might date to the late 1600's, the case gin most likely mid to late 1700's, good luck...

Does look like a gin bottle. It maybe an early V. Hoytema & C. bottle. I have a latter version on that bottle, but the A & C looks like the early ones. There are many different variations of the lip. Can't be sure...Does look like a gin bottle though. Keep going back to that spot[emoji3]
