So I started digging and was finding broken glass with coal how far down because the dirt is a ash color but a foot down turns a orangey color

You just have to dig until it's done , you may find something whole you may not ,might want to screen it as well ,, DIG IT YOU MUST !!

Not sure ,how thick is it ? Can you get through it ? Have you probed it ? Do you think it is a privy , or a shallow ash/trash pit? You'll have to do some deductive reasoning. Let us know if it was boom or bust .

I would get to digging...if it was me id do a grid pattern and a few test holes to find the largest amount of debris...but honestly theres no telling where they are just gotta dig.

Yep, they look like some kind of garden lily, they were probably mixed in with some yard waste. Let us know if they eventually get orange/yellow flowers.

Anyway, those are some nice pieces of glass, definitely too good to ignore. Make a deep little test hole and see what comes up!

I believe the grey is a small clay deposit. Try digging a few test hole in the area. Take a few minutes snip away all the brush and hard rake the soil. Youll hear if you hit glass. When you get your probe that will help out a lot. If she drops fully with light force BINGO. Good luck
