After 33 years I finally completed my island of Hawaii Bimal soda collection. I also collect Oahu sodas, whiskeys, gins, and medicines. But my priority has been Hawaii Island where I started collecting in 1984.
DUG: The majority of the bottles from the island of Hawaii were dug up from late 1800s to early 1900s plantation camps, dumps, and construction sites. I bought or traded for some of the rarer bottles. Although there were several soda -water companies during the turn of the century, the bottles were not made in Hawaii. The soda-water companies ordered custom made bottles primarily from the states. Some bottles like the Codd marble stoppers were imported from Europe. The companies made and filled the soda water locally.
