Since we have been in the deep freeze here in New Jersey for about 2 weeks now have not been able to do any metal/relic/bottle detecting. So I thought I would post a few of my bottle finds that I did not post earlier as I found one at a time over a period of time. Found an amber S McKee Co #4-Dr J Hostetters Stomach Bitters bottle circa pre 1908 under my dining room floor, a 1950s Pepsi bottle in the old railroad dump, A 1950s Holly's Dairy milk bottle made in nearby Mt. Holly, N.J. also in the old railroad dump, an aqua J Walker's VB bitters bottle with flared top made by the R H McDonald Drug Co circa late 1800s also under my dining room floor, an aqua John Kilner Glass Co (J K S W) bottle circa mid 1800s England under my dining room floor, and a Warranted 14 ounces Union Made Star Flask made nearby at the Star Glass Works in Medford, N.J. circa 1897-1924 at the old railroad dump. 6 degrees here now and no end in sight! Happy (and warm) Hunting. Nice!!! I see you're in NJ? While bowhunting in Jefferson, NJ, I came across an old house foundation, well and garbage pit. I kicked some leaves around and started finding old bottles. Right there is where treasure hunting took hold for me. I love detecting but am always on the lookout for bottles. I really like that embossed milk bottle! Lots of milk bottles in NJ ground. Great, clean finds. Congrats!

Kray Gelder my house is over 200 years old. Under the dining room floor is a crawlspace accessed by an old trap door under the dining room rug where old bottles, glassware, tableware, etc. were thrown back in the 1800s-anything that could not be burned. I have posted many times the dining room floor, crawlspace underneath, and of the many treasures found there. The posts are titled (Under the dining room floor). 2.JPG 1.JPG 4.JPG 18920568_10203028249945351_4777089641340609097_n.jpg

Very cool, one has to wonder what secrets 150+ years of privies hold on that beautiful piece of land.

That is really something, living in a house that's been around so long. I had not seen your earlier posts. Thanks.

Damned, that's way cool. Lots of good looking to be done around, behind, above and under that place.

Wow, I love this. Anything "under the floorboards" has its own special kind of freakishness. I'd be down under there like a dust mite!

I can't get over the sheer number of artifacts that you've taken out of that floor. I wouldn't be able to sleep thinking about what might be waiting to be found.

'Gotta be some great privy pits in that yard!

Speaking of, have you already dug the privies?

Have not determined where the privies may have been. Quite possibly the garage or shed built in the mid 1900s cover them?

Cancel that. I see the photo of the whole property now. Strange layout for the house/property. I wouldn’t rule out that flower bed to the left against the fence but more than likely they would be in the back
