I bought an old house and had to put a new masonry pier under it. When I dug the hole for the pier I found some bottles and inkwells; here they are:

Sr. Stonebraker's Rat Killer Baltimore: (i think clear poison bottles are rare-ish, maybe the FDA required weird bottles for poison)

You need to keep on keeping on. The flared lip octagonal one in the middle looks like it ought to be pontiled. If digging one footing turned up that much, there's not telling what else is under there.

House was built in 1870 according to town records but this may have been a trash pit from an older dwelling.

Nice finds! I'd be doing a lot more digging under the house!

If the house was built over a trash pit, the house may have protected a lot of metal relics, as well. I'd keep digging.

Very cool finds. Dang near looks like a Columbia ink. Dig that whole thing out. Toss a detector down there with a small coil. Jgas.
