Hello Ivan....
Pictures are invaluable in helping to identify type and age of bottles. Here's a comprehensive website to help you with your query.

Hi Ivan ,, very hard to date bottles with out a picture. Most (Torpedo's) were mass produced 1860-1915 give or take a few years, Sometimes black glass is easier to date, (Wine,Gin,Beer,Rum)

Dont know much about torpedo bottles but the way I understand it, if the mold line goes all the way to the top on most bottles, it is late 1800s to TOC. Can't tell much without a pic, and like I said, I don't know much about torpedos. They may date differently than others.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people.

From what I've learned mold seams going through to top indicates ABM or Automatic Bottle Machine circa 1903.

Late 1800's to early 1900's as was said when the bottle was given to you
